Hair loss is a naturally occurring phenomenon as you advance in age. Thinning of hair or baldness is one of the signs of aging and mostly caused due to nutrients deficiencies such as iron deficiency.
NUTRIENTS FOR HAIR
Good nutrition helps with hair growth and renewal as such, one must eat foods rich in Vitamins A, B, C, biotin, copper, zinc and iron. While vitamin supplements help, eating foods which are rich sources of these nutrients give better results.
While some hair loss issues may need medical attention, there are helpful tips you could adopt to help thinning of hair and hair loss in its entirety. Here are a few:
Garlic:

Garlic when crushed and massaged into scalp helps blood circulation which reduces thinning of hair.
Hair masks
Hair masks strengthen hair follicles to prevent breakage and eventual thinning. Since I promote natural remedies, here are a few hair masks you could use:
Eggs: I am sure you know that egg whites make great hair masks to prevent breakage and thinning. Break two eggs, remove the yolks, and massage the white into your scalp and hair. Leave in the hair for fifteen minutes until dry. Then rinse off with warm water.
Yogurt: Yogurt gives hair volume and luster. So make a hair mask by massaging yogurt into your hair, cover with a wrap and allow to condition hair for fifteen minutes. Rinse off.
Coconut Milk and Lemon:
The best source of coconut milk is the natural one itself, especially the ones yet to fully mature as they are very succulent and full of milk. With these, you can scoop the entire content, including the coconut with spoon. Blend it into a smooth paste, squeeze a little amount of lemon into it and massage into hair. I use this on my daughter to prevent breakage and thinning.

Natural hair treatment
The natural a hair care product, the better for you. Here are a few natural products you could use:
~ Shea butter
~ Olive oil
~ Coconut oil
~Palm Kernel oil
To avoid over processed olive oil, use extra virgin olive oil used in cooking or the Goya brand churches use for prayer.
Try not to buy overly processed Shea butter with fragrances; you need it natural so go for a natural source.
Coconut oil as well as Palm kernel oil are not hard to extract. You just have to let the fruits dry out in the sun first, and then toast in a sauce pan. With time, the oil will be extracted.
Mayonnaise and greying?
Oh yes! I found out very recently that mayonnaise when massaged into hair, allowed to sit for fifteen minutes and rinsed off can help with greying. Go find out and let me know what you find!
Hope these helps! Cheers!
