Why we are a bespoke natural skincare brand

So we create and stock a wide variety of natural skincare products for all different skin types and skin concerns; but we are heavily bespoke because the process of interacting with clients through free consultation and customizing unique products tailored to a client’s individual needs have actually helped us grow and expand pretty fast. Every client wants to be given that personal touch that is lacking in our fast-paced markets and especially in the area of skincare where clients have different skin types and skin concerns like allergies and what is tolerable.

Our bespoke natural skincare services begin with free consultation which allows us to gather information about the client’s past skincare regime, allergies if any and much more. At the end of the consultation, either we recommend one of our generic products or we customize. What I personally find interesting is that clients want the best for their skin and are happy when you meet their satisfaction.

Customizing skincare products sometimes can involve tweaking the ingredients in a generic product to suit the individual needs of a client or to create a brand new product entirely. Sometimes it is about changing the texture and packaging of our products. Take this one below for an example:

Ene Naturals, alpha Arbutin lotion, natural skincare brand nigeria
This product originally is a lotion in a jar and while the client loved the goodness that this product provides, she does not like lotions. So she had us change the texture from a light weight lotion to a much thicker cream in a tub.

Collagen lotion, anti aging soap and lotion, ene Naturals Collagen plus
Similarly, these two above have been tweaked as well. The Collagen+ Lightening anti aging soap originally comes in a tub and is made with goat milk while the cream is usually packaged in a smaller tub and made with goat milk as well. For this client, we switched the goat milk for pure coconut milk, changed some ingredients; packaged the soap in a 500ml jar rather than a 250ml tub while the cream was packaged in a 250ml tub rather than in a 100ml tub.

Bespoke services can be challenging but very exciting and positively challenging because your goal is a happy customer.

At Ene Naturals, customer satisfaction is our ultimate goal so if you want our bespoke services, contact us today for free consultation.

Cheers!

The customer as Co-creator at Ene Naturals

Since I began my organic skincare business, I have always relied on customers for inspiration, ideas and suggestions. In fact, no business can be successful without putting the customer first. This is why at Ene Naturals, the customer is a co- creator. So I developed two moisturizing products – Ene Naturals Moisturizing black soap and Ene Naturals Brightening goatmilk lotion for the skin that needs deep moisturizing.

I was pleased with the products as they were received well.

Ene Naturals moisturizing liquid black soap, African black soap, African liquid black soap
Ene Naturals moisturizing liquid black soap

So my original formulation includes: raw African black soap, shea butter, rosemary oil, aqua, jasmine oil, turmeric, coconut milk, Glycerine, vitamin E, lavender, orange oil, lemon oil and citric acid. And then I got a client who wanted a moisturizing liquid black soap that lightens as well as fight wrinkles so I had to tweak the product a bit by including collagen, retinol, goatmilk and kojic acid. Thus a new custom line was created – Custom M – I like to call it. My client also had me customizing my goatmilk lotion as well.

Ene Naturals, brightening Goatmilk lotion, Goatmilk lotion
The original formulation contained raw goatmilk, aqua, coconut oil, lemon oil, orange oil, jasmine oil, carrot oil, vitamin E, Glycerine, collagen, retinol, turmeric and citric acid. In tweaking this for my client, I created a deep moisturizer that brightens one’s complexion and fights wrinkles.

I was pleased to create the Custom M range which can now be ordered by people with similar taste.

This shows that flexibility is very vital in businesses and to position one’s business for growth, one must be ope to the customer’s needs and put them at the forefront.

As a business owner, is there any way you’ve learnt something from your client? Pls do share!

Am so excited about my name change!

Hi guys,

I recently changed my business name, blogging name, including blog address and social handles from Bronzegoddess NG to ENE Naturals as part of rebranding my business and my personality. I am now a full fledged organic skincare formulator and while my makeup services remain the same, my beauty therapy services are now completely natural.

I am an ardent advocate of all things natural, including natural medicines so by adopting my new name, I am expressing appropriately who I really am and what my beliefs are.

Though the name has changed, the contents of this blog and what I represent remains the same. You will still receive posts on makeup, skincare and hair; but I will be including more interesting posts on organic skincare and all things natural.

Thank you for letting me be a part of you all these years.

Cheers!

Nature's healing power … In a cup

Two weeks ago, I was involved in a gas explosion in my kitchen! My entire body was on fire, all the hairs on my body fried! Fortunately, the damage was minimal as only a few parts of my skin were badly injured.

Though I was hospitalized, I ditched all the topical creams given to me for my own natural skincare product – Bronze Goddess NG Body Butter –

This is not a marketing ploy but a testament that nature is the greatest healer. I turned to this body butter for its truly natural ingredients: Shea butter, olive oil, hemp seed oil, Rosemary oil, lavender oil, Vitamin E, orange oil extract, among others. These essential oils and carrier oils are great for cell renewal because of its ability to accelerate collagen production so you can understand why I would turn to them.

It’s just been two weeks and my new skin is formed and healing very fast.

This is not the first time I am having to depend on this body butter to heal my skin. I had a fibrous growth on my finger that was operated upon and removed. Two weeks after surgery, the fibrosis grew bigger and fatter. Rather than go back for a second surgery, I began massaging the body butter into the fibrous skin twice daily. In a matter of weeks, the growth disappeared permanently, with the surgery scar no longer visible. I also use the butter to treat spider veins as well.

I am always happy to share my knowledge with people so if you are resident in Lagos, Nigeria, please walk into my all natural spa for samples. If you would rather we ship them to you, then cost of shipment would be born by you.

You can buy this product from my online store – http://www.bronzegoddessmakeupstore.wordpress.com today!

Cheers!

Skin preservation is key to ageless skin

The pursuit of beautiful skin is a rather challenging task for a lot of women but nonetheless, our utmost mission as women. This drive – or rather – obsession, as the case may be, has led many women into making wrong decisions. For the average African woman, the quest for beautiful skin simply means a lighter complexion, which in most cases translates to skin bleaching,  even though they would never admit this reality.

The fastest selling skincare products out there either “lightens” or “whitens”, promising quick fixes like “whiter skin in 3 days”. It’s amazing how a well informed woman can believe that a skincare product can whiten her skin in three days! The sad thing though is that not only do these creams damage their skin, these damaged women expect skincare professionals like I to find the solution to their problem.
The sight of ruptured veins, beyond imaginable stretched skin (stretch marks) and terrifying sun burns still send chills down my spine. It is worrisome the length women would go for lighter or whiter skin, only to end up with eternal scars that make it impossible for their spouses to touch them.
This, unfortunately is true and what I get to see day to day on the job. Unfortunately for these women, the majority of damaged skin cases may never be solved as skin that has been over-stretched is hard to heal. Sadly too, this translates to early or premature aging of the skin.

Facts about your skin you mustn’t ignore:

Your skin is a living, breathing organism; as such has its limits

Skin lightening or whitening products contain steroids and harmful chemicals like hydroquinone which damages the skin especially when it comes in contact with the sun. So steriods- plus -whiteners- plus-sun exposure means dehydration of the skin, sun burn and aging of the skin.

Your skin needs moisturisers and oils to give it suppleness and needed moisture which lightening or whitening products do not contain. This excessive drying of your skin causes wrinkles and fine lines.

Your skin needs collagen to stay young. So for as long as you are substituting moisturisers for skin whiteners,  you are accelerating aging.

Your skin needs oils as vitamins A & E,  which are vital for the production of collagen are predominantly found in oils.

A lighter or whiter skin does not mean beautiful skin; a healthy skin does.

While some women are guilty of exposing their skin to whiteners, others over process their skin. I know ladies who wash their face with soap, use cleanser and toner and still scrub their face daily. That is too much for one face and soon, you are breaking into acne or rashes. Excessive washing and cleansing leads to excessive drying of the skin, which strips the skin of sebum and causes imbalance in body oil. Whether you have acne or not, choose between a soap or foaming cleanser to wash your face with and then use a toner. Less is more.

Why skin preservation?

I treat my skin like an egg – very delicately because I know that prevention is better than cure; and that by preserving my skin, am delaying the aging process for a youthful skin for longer. By preserving my skin, am in fact, saving on some serious cash as I wouldn’t resort to plastic surgery in the future. Once your skin adjust to preservation mode, it stays healthy and youthful for longer.

Tips to adhere

Moisturize,  moisturize! Always buy lotions or creams rich in collagen, Vitamins A and E with essential oils for lubrication and gloss. To stay young, I make my own cream.

I made this out of pure aloe vera gel, Vitamins A, C, E,  almond oil, coconut oil, carrot oil, lemon oil and lavender and rosemary oils. This cream is moisturising,  fights wrinkles and aging as well as give me radiant skin.

I stopped using soap a long time ago. I now make my own face wash and body wash from castille soap into which I add coconut oil, olive oil and almond oil and carrot oil. I wash my face with cotton pads for deep cleansing so I don’t use my finger.

To tone,  I simply diluted my Boots rosewater and glycerine with equal part water and I tone with cotton pad. For some reasons, glycerine and rose water is harsh on me but I need the healing, moisturising and age fighting properties in it so I dilute with water and it works perfectly.

This is me; I don’t expect everyone to buy into my regime but I advice you think long term before using anything on your skin. You do not need to be three shades lighter to be beautiful; your goal should be having healthy, radiant skin for the long term

I embraced natural skincare for years now and am quite pleased that I don’t battle acne,  rash, sun burn or stretch marks. My skin is toned with the right elasticity. So if ageless beauty is what you want, then embrace skin preservation.

Cheers!
